Rochester, N.Y. - The Wegmans LPGA has a new champion.

Shanshan Feng, a 22 year-old from China, had never won an LPGA event before coming to Rochester.

Heading into the final round yesterday it was really anyone’s match—but Feng stepped it up.

She took a two shot lead into the clubhouse, and none of the golfers still on the course were able to catch her.

Feng shot a 67 in the final round to win the tournament.

Feng finished 6-under for the tournament, two shots ahead of the field. Mika Miyazato, Eun-Hee Ji, and Stacy Lewis finished in a four way tie for second at -4.

With two runaway LGPA winners in two years, some thought that Locust Hill might be too easy. There was nothing easy about the 2012 course.

The big names at the top of the leaderboard promised an exciting final round, but the winning name was one that no one expected to see.
