New York - State health officials said on Thursday they are seeing a spike in the number of flu cases in New York.
So far, there have been 19,000 cases reported this season, compared to 4,400 for all of last season, but doctors say the number of cases could drop off despite a strong start to the season.
Two children have died in New York from the flu this season.
This year's strain of flu, Strain A, is matching up well with vaccines.
Flu season typically runs from October to May, and officials advocate receiving a flu shot to best avoid getting sick.
