Off-Duty Police Officer Stabbed With Scissors

Greece, N.Y. - An off-duty Irondequoit Police Officer was stabbed while walking his dog late Tuesday morning.

Investigators said a black man in his 20s approached the victim near the intersection of Latta Road and Spanish-Trail with a pair of scissors, and demanded his phone. The off-duty officer tried to fight off the attacker and was stabbed in the arms and shoulder. He is expected to recover.

The suspect ran away, and remains at large.

Police said the suspect wore a black t-shirt, and black shorts with a light blue stripe. Investigators said the suspect may have suffered a facial injury during the altercation.
