An FDA panel voted 12-9 Tuesday to no longer recommend the marketing of an osteoporosis drug.

Experts say there's little evidence that "calcitonin salmon" actually works, and may even increase the risk of cancer.

The drug has been prescribed since the 1980s for post-menopausal women with osteoporosis.
