Rochester, N.Y. – Dozens of people grouped together at Camp Eastman at Durand Eastman Park in Rochester Friday night to raise awareness of mistreatment of pets.

The PAWSome Winter Challenge was organized by the local group, PAWS, which focuses on animal neglect.

The participants brought and sat in cardboard boxes as a demonstration of the harsh conditions in which many pets live.

Along with raising awareness, the group is raising money to build hardy shelters, which they hand out to pet owners.
