Rochester, N.Y. - They're painting the town all week in Rochester.

Several artists from our area and beyond are painting murals on city buildings.

It's part of a project called "wall therapy." Artists say their work is different from grafitti because they do get permission from building owners first.

"The response has been resoundingly positive to the idea of having mural art in Rochester," said Ian Wilson, one of the event's organizers.

Artists say this could help promote tourism in Rochester.

"This is the kind of thing that could make Rochester a destination city," says street artist 'Thievin' Stephen.' "I think the city needs to support the arts and embrace the fact that there's a lot of talented graffiti artists in Rochester that sometimes get overlooked."

The artists will be painting murals all week with a focus on the area near Rochester's Public Market.
