Penfield, N.Y. - Dollop Gourmet Cupcake Creations will be closing later this month.
The store and its owner, Heather Saffer, gained national attention after winning the Food Network baking competition "Cupcake Wars" in February 2012.
Saffer has signed a book deal to write a cookbook about frosting. She's also plans to package and sell frosting on store shelves.
"Everyone loves frosting, it's the best part of any cupcake, and practically every customer I've ever had has at one point or another eaten frosting on its own with a spoon," Saffer said.
Dollop will close December 24 at 4 p.m.
