Penfield, N.Y. – A Penfield teenager has been arrested, accused of stabbing another teen early Saturday.

Monroe County Sheriff's deputies said they were called to 19 Alpine Drive around 12:30 a.m. for the report of a person stabbed. When they arrived on scene, they found Paul Luft, 16, in the roadway with a stab wound to the abdomen.

Deputies say Luft and a friend were leaving a party at the Alpine Drive address when they encountered a separate group of people, which included Tyler Grimes, 17, and Brandon Henderson, 18, of Penfield.

Luft and Grimes allegedly began fighting in the roadway. During the fight, deputies say Henderson stabbed Luft with a knife.

“Of course it's shocking especially when it's basically on your front porch,” said Amanda Kluck who lives across the street.

Kluck said she heard the commotion and described a panicked scene.

“I just saw a white older vehicle pulling out and bunch of the girls screaming that they think that somebody got cut,” Kluck said.

Kluck said she saw the young teenage boy standing by a mailbox try to walk a little bit and then fell over.

"All the kids started running out and driving away, no one was really paying attention to the kid that was on the ground,” Kluck said.

Henderson, Grimes, and others allegedly fled the scene after the stabbing.

Grimes and Henderson were located in Wayne County around 6:00 a.m.

Henderson is charged with first degree assault, and has been remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of bail.

Luft was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for treatment.

He was originally listed in guarded condition, but was upgraded to satisfactory condition on Sunday night.

Neighbors tell 13WHAM News that a mother and what's believed to be her young teenage daughter live at the house where the party was held.

No one from that home was available for comment Saturday.

We're told police have been called to the home before.
