Pittsford, N.Y. – A Pittsford boy is asking people in the Rochester area to join in the effort to build an animal sanctuary in honor of Catherine Violet Hubbard, one of the young children killed in the Newtown, Connecticut shooting.
Jack Sullivan, 9, says his cousin loved animals.
“Whenever I saw her she would either be talking to a dog or out catching a butterfly,” Sullivan said.
Sullivan is also working to place a plaque and tree outside his school, Allen Creek Elementary.
“I couldn’t be prouder,” said Sullivan’s mother, Kelly McCormick-Sullivan. “I think it’s a wonderful way to bring healing to our family and to channel a lot of the emotion in a positive way and will be a true reflection of Catherine and the love we will always have for her.”
