Pittsford, N.Y. - The Town of Pittsford appointed a new supervisor Tuesday night.
Acting Supervisor Sandra Zutes will take over the remainder of Bill Carpenter's term.
Carpenter left the post last month for a position at the Monroe County Water Authority.
Town Justice William Smith Junior was appointed to fill Zutes' seat on the town board.
Smith will resign his judgeship immediately.
