North Texas - Planned Parenthood says it has received a surge in donations--- more than $400,000 in the last 24 hours--after a major organization said it is cutting funding to some agencies.
Susan G. Komen, a leader in breast cancer fundraising, pulled back funding after increasing scrutiny from Congress over how Planned Parenthood provides abortion services.
Planned Parenthood's DEO says he's disappointed. "I believe the National Komen Board has succumbed to political pressure. They've been under pressure for a very long time and we are disheartened that they would discontinue funding for the most vulnerable in this community," said Ken Lambrecht in North Texas.
A Planned Parenthood spokesperson in Rochester said the Rochester-area offices are not affected by the change.
