Henrietta, N.Y. - A Henrietta man accused of injuring a sheriff's deputy and leading officers on a police chase is in the hospital.

According to the Monroe County Sheriff's Department, Stephon Wolde-Tinsaye stole his father's car and in the process knocked down a sheriff's deputy.

The chase ended when he crashed into two cars in front of Marketplace Mall.

Wolde-Tinsaye is also accused of stealing a hotel shuttle van and trying to rob a customer at a Wilson Farms store on East River Road.

"She was standing right about where we are now, and he tried to take her keys from her,” said store clerk Dawn McCarthy. “She happened to move and he ran into the bench and she just ran into the store."

The night before the alleged crime spree, the suspect had been hospitalized for anxiety issues and had left the hospital without permission.
