New Delhi (AP) -Police in India say one of the five men on trial for the gang rape and deadly beating of a young woman on a bus has committed suicide behind bars.
Police officials say Ram Singh, who allegedly drove the bus during the December attack, had been under suicide watch.
Singh's family said they suspect foul play.
A 23-year-old woman was gang raped and beaten by six men in a case that drew worldwide attention.
One defendant, who's a juvenile, is being tried separately.
