Newark, N.Y. - 42-year-old Larry Walrad remains in guarded condition at Strong Hospital after he was shot while answering his door last Friday.
It happened at a home on Silver Hill Road.
Police say Larry Walrad - who is renting a room in the home - was awakened early Friday morning when he heard a knock at the door. Walrad yelled to the person to come to the back door - when he answered, he saw a suspect with a long gun, closed the door and turned to run. That is when he was shot.
Police are still looking for the suspect or suspects.
