Webster, N.Y. - Employees say it was almost the end of the night when a woman in a hooded sweatshirt walked into Mark's Pizzeria on East Main Street - but she was not there asking for pizza.

"I just never expected something like that to happen,” said manager Anthony Ronco, “in an area like this where it is kind of quiet."

It was business as usual on Friday for Ronco as he prepared food for the lunch crowd, just over 12 hours after the store was robbed at gunpoint.

"At first, from what I heard, it was a normal customer - it seemed like a normal customer,” said Ronco, “coming in right before we closed."

According to Webster police, a heavy set woman in her 40's entered the store around 9:50 p.m. Thursday, armed with a long gun. She got away with cash, other items and fled on foot. The manager on duty at the time was alone.

"It's a cold winter night someone walks in with hoodie on - you can't make that judgment call right away," said Ronco.

But Ronco says even though this was a first for the store it's causing employees to reconsider how they end their day. The store is discussing different closure procedures.

No one was hurt during the robbery.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Crimestoppers hotline, at 423-9300.
