(Rochester, N.Y.)-The Rochester Police Locust Club spent St. Patrick’s Day raising money for injured Rochester Police Officer Anthony DiPonzio with its “Operation Pot of Gold” fundraiser.
Off-duty officers spent Tuesday stationed outside several Irish restaurants and pubs, raising money for DiPonzio, who was shot in the head on January 31.
“We come out to support our brothers and sisters, officers. Especially in times like these, and we know he'd do the same for each one of us,” said Randy Potuck of the Rochester Police Locust Club.
Officer DiPonzio made his first public appearance at a fundraiser over the weekend. He continues to show progress in his rehab program at St. Mary’s Hospital.
