Rochester, N.Y.—From chefs to software experts to cooks, they're pooling dollars for the chance at the $640 million Mega Millions jackpot.
“We’re collecting $5 for everybody that wants to be in,” said Colleen Maloney of Jay’s Diner in Brighton.
Office pools can increase your chance of winning but can also become
problematic if your group does win.
“If it’s not a written agreement, you’re doomed,” said Eric Handelman, partner at Handelman, Witkowicz and Levitsky a firm specializing in civil litigation cases.
Handelman suggests carefully crafting your pool. Identify who will buy tickets and post every ticket so players know what is in play.
The drawing is Friday and can be seen on 13WHAM television.
