Canandaigua, N.Y. - The 2013-2014 proposed Ontario County budget includes a property tax increase.
The spending plan unveiled Thursday night calls for a 3.2% tax levy increase, and a 0.97% tax rate hike. The increase translates to about 6 cents per $1,000 dollars of assessed property value.
The increase is blamed in part on mandated state retirement, education and health program costs.
