Rochester, N.Y. - Starting Friday, Rochester’s Puerto Rican festival will be going in the V.I.P. lot at Frontier Field.
The three-day event includes a parade and 5k run on Saturday at 9 a.m.
Proceeds from the race will go to the Veterans Outreach Center.
It is being held in honor of Staff Sergeant Javier Ortiz Rivera who was killed by a roadside bomb in Afghanistan.
It has special meaning for his brother who is organizing the festival.
"In the first year that he ran he actually finished and then he ran back to catch up to me and then we actually finished about a half mile together," said Rivera’s brother Orlando.
