Henrietta, N.Y. - An RIT student is recovering from second degree burns on her hands, arms and legs after a hot water pipe burst on campus.

The accident happened Sunday night inside the Corner Store in Nathaniel Rochester Hall.

A college spokesperson says the student worker was injured after an expansion joint on the pipe burst inside the store.

The joint was previously replaced in December and they are trying to determine why the joint failed.
