Rochester, N.Y. - The grand total is in, and this year's ROC the Day raised $875,000 for charities in the nine-county Greater Rochester region.
More than 10,000 donors raised $636,000 - which was matched by $239,000 in challenge grants.
The 24-hour end of the year fundraiser Wednesday was organized by United Way of Greater Rochester, with the support of several local businesses and organizations.
More than 650 charities will benefit from the money raised.
Last year's total was $567,000.
