Rochester, N.Y. – Area realtors say this looks to be the best start to the home-buying season in years.
Typically, a push in home sales starts in late April, however realtors have been seeing home interest since Christmas.
“I think it's beginning to look a lot like it used to before the economy really went so far down,” said Susan Carpenter-Valik, a realtor for Re/Max Plus.
Valik says low mortgage rates are motivating people to buy early.
“They're more tired of waiting and if they have good job and they feel confident with their particular job and the interest rates are so low, they're going ahead.”
The average mortgage rate is around 3.5 to 3.75 percent.
