Rochester, N.Y. - People upset with the firing of Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra conductor Arild Remmereit lost a fight Wednesday nght at the RPO's annual meeting.
Hundreds showed up in support of Remmereit, hoping to reinstate his contract. They wanted a slate of new board members elected that supported their cause, but did not have the votes.
At the meeting, the RPO also discussed its budget. The group has received increased donations to its annual campaign compared to last year, and made nearly $800,000 in cost reductions.
