Albany, N.Y. - There's a new push to decriminalize small amounts of marijuana in New York State.
Members of the state legislature's Black, Puerto Rican, Hispanic and Asian caucuses - called for a change in state law on Tuesday.
People with small amounts of marijuana face tickets for violations. However, having drugs in public view is a misdemeanor. The lawmakers want the misdemeanor lowered to a violation.
Governor Cuomo proposed the change in law last year, but it was blocked by Republican legislators.
