Rochester, N.Y.- A guilty verdict Wednesday in the murder trial of a Rochester man accused of killing a woman and dumping her body inside a garbage bin.
Matthew Townsend was convicted of second-degree murder in the death of Toccara Harmon in January 2011.
Harmon was asphyxiated and her body was left in a garbage bin on Lyell Avenue.
Jurors deliberated for an hour and a half before returning the verdict.
This was Townsend’s second trial. A judge declared the first one a mistrial because three jurors were determined to be “grossly unqualified.”
