Pittsford, N.Y.- Some members of the Rochester media were honored for their outstanding work.

The Rochester Media Association named the inaugural winners of its Impact Awards during a Saturday banquet at St. John Fisher College.

The awards were given out to individuals with distinguished careers in local media who have made substantial contributions to the community.

13WHAM News anchor, Don Alhart was among those honored for his frequent work with charities, including the Cerebral Palsy Association, and ARC of Monroe.

Carol Ritter Wright, retired reporter and columnist for the Democrat and Chronicle was also honored. She has served as a volunteer auctioneer for charity auctions for many years, helping raise more than $3.5 million for dozens of area non-profit organizations.

Brother Wease, radio personality with 95.1 The Brew, who through his “Wease Cares” foundation has raised and distributed more than a quarter million dollars for the benefit of area children, also received an award.

This is the Rochester Media Association’s first banquet.
