Rochester, N.Y. - It's still too soon to know who or if any stars from "The Amazing Spider-Man 2” movie will be in town or even where the movie scenes will be shot, but those in the local film industry are getting excited about the shoot.
“It's a great opportunity,” said Alex Miltsch of Young Lion Studios, in Rochester, “a project of this magnitude will definitely give audiences a key chance to see how a film production can really impact a local economy.”
This shoot could also mean good things for the future of film in Rochester.
“It's the idea that Rochester can be a place to shoot movies,” said longtime movie critic Jack Garner. “It has been in the past, although primarily locally produced independent kind of cinema.”
As far as celebrity sightings, those in the industry said star watchers shouldn't get too excited just yet.
“Unless they need them in a shot getting into a car, I doubt they'll be around,” said Garner.
But, even if stars don't grace the streets of Rochester, part of the city will grace the big screen.
“I think it will definitely help Rochester grow its film production community... and become a more vibrant destination to make movies,” said Miltsch.
