Rochester, N.Y. – City officials announced Thursday that Rochester will participate in the World Wildlife Funds’s ‘Earth Hour’ Saturday evening.
All non-essential lights will be shut off in City buildings from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. to support environmental awareness.
“While our commitment to the environment is present in all of our daily operations, it is important to bring attention to this important issue by joining other cities across the world in support of Earth Hour,” said Rochester Mayor Tom Richards.
