Alden, N.Y.- State Police arrested a Rochester woman who is accused of using a stolen driver’s license to cash forged checks.

State Police charged Britany Benway, 27, with three counts of second-degree possession of a forged Instrument, first-degree identity theft, fourth-degree grand larceny, fourth-degree attempted grand larceny and scheme to defraud.

Authorities say Benway used a stolen New York Driver’s License to cash checks at Check Express in Alden New York.

Workers called police after they became suspicious.

Authorities say Benway claimed she was given the checks by a Rochester man who drives her and other women, around Western New York from Jamestown to Rochester cashing forged checks.
