Rochester, N.Y. – Rochester police took a stand against violence Saturday.

They teamed up with the Orleans Correctional Facility, Full Gospel Tabernacle Church and the Rochester Police Foundation for a gun drop-off.

Inmates raised more than $1,000 in 18 months for the effort. They asked that the funds be used to collect guns off the streets of Rochester.

Anyone who turned in a handgun received a $100 Wegmans gift card, and anyone who turned in a long gun received a $50 gift card.
