Washington - Congressman Paul Ryan will unveil a budget proposal this week that includes a repeal of President Obama's health care law.
The former vice-presidential nominee discussed his plan on the Sunday morning talk show circuit.
One host reminded Ryan that the plan probably won't get enough support from Democrats.
“Obamacare does such damage to Medicare that it's going to damage the program for current seniors,” Ryan said. “We don't want that to happen. That's why we are proposing these reforms, which save and strengthen the Medicare program, not just for my mom but for my generation as well.”
President Obama has scheduled three visits to Capitol Hill in the coming days to meet with Republican lawmakers over the budget.
