Geneseo, N.Y. - SUNY Geneseo is ranked first for out-of-state students and ninth for in-state students in Kiplinger's Personal Finance magazine's 2013 list of best values among the nation's public four-year colleges.
The rankings recognize four-year schools that combine outstanding education with economic value. Geneseo's current in-state tuition is $5,570 per year with total costs of about $18,000.
For out of state students, the figures rise to $14,820 and $27,330.
Kiplinger's considers a number of measures including the admissions rate, the percentage of students who return for sophomore year and the 4-year graduation rate. Cost criteria includes low tuition, financial aid and low average debt at graduation.
