Rochester, N.Y. - Children and adults going trick or treating on Halloween should be extra vigilant this year for downed wires and other storm debris.
Safety Tips:

—Treat any downed wire in the street or on lawns as if it's carrying electricity.

—Avoid any puddles or standing water, which can conduct electricity.

—Be extra careful crossing intersections in blacked-out areas.

—Carry a flashlight. Maybe two.

—Wear a glow-in-the-dark safety vest.
