Bellefonte, PA - Former Penn State assistant coach Jerry Sandusky was sentenced to at least 30 years in prison Tuesday in a child sex abuse scandal.

Sandusky, 68, was convicted in June on 45 counts of sex abuse-related charges.

Speaking in court, Sandusky maintained his innocence, and said he is not a monster. He said he didn’t do the “alleged disgusting acts.”
The sentence means Sandusky will be in prison at least until he's nearly 100 years old.

He plans to appeal, a process his attorney said will probably begin in the coming weeks.
