Rochester, N.Y. - Demolition of the original East Avenue store will begin on Saturday morning.
At around 8:30 a.m., a Wegmans spokesperson said demolition will begin with the removal of one bay of steel, roofing, and the exterior wall that runs parallel to East Avenue. The entire process is expected to take two to three hours.
Further demolition is scheduled in stages, and set to take place between March 11 and March 18.
The entire 43,000 square foot building is scheduled to be demolished by the end of March, to clear space for a new parking lot.
