Greece, N.Y. - A high school senior in Greece is getting ready for what could be his biggest performance yet--soon Michael Leadbetter will sing for President Obama.
Leadbetter, a student at Greece Athena has been chosen as a Presidential Scholar in musical theater. It means he will receive a medal and perform for the president.
“At first, I was, like, 'Awesome!'” Leadbetter said. “Now I'm mentally preparing myself.”
Leadbetter is among 141 students named as Presidential Scholars. Twenty of those are Scholars in the Arts.
He will perform for the president on June 16.
