Rushville, Ontario County - Emergency crews are on the scene of a crash involving a school bus that rolled over into a field.

It happened on Baldwin Road and County Route 1 around 7:30 a.m. The bus was turning left when it was hit by an oncoming pickup truck, and flipped on its side into a corn field.

There were 26 Marcus Whitman students on board at the time, who helped one another to safety. Five were taken to the hospital to be treated for minor bumps and bruises.

Marcus Whitman School officials say many of the students decided to go to school today despite the accident.

The pickup truck driver and bus driver were also taken to the hospital. No word yet on their conditions.

The bus driver, Dawn Scheutzow, has been working for the district for five years.

Police are still investigating the cause of the crash.
