Ft. Myers, FL - Nearly two dozen TSA screeners and supervisors have been fired in one of the largest disciplinary actions ever taken by the agency.

Another 38 agents are on suspension.

They all worked at the airport in Fort Myers, Florida.

The agents allegedly failed to perform random, secondary screenings on passengers.

Industry experts say those random screenings are crucial to airline security.

Nearly four million people traveled through the airport last year.
