Rochester, N.Y. – Monroe County Executive Maggie Brooks delivered a reflective State of the County Address Wednesday evening.
Her speech prompted a response from Congresswoman Louise Slaughter, who is running against Brooks for Congress.
In a statement, Slaughter's campaign manager noted that while Brooks "highlighted the importance of education, she forgot to tell students and families her position on student loan interest rates, which are set to double on July first.”
"Maggie won't take a stand," Slaughter said.
