Corning, N.Y. - A soldier from Steuben County has been killed in Afghanistan.
The Evening Tribune of Hornell reports that a family member told the newspaper that 22-year-old Ryan Jayne of Corning was killed by a roadside bomb over the weekend.
The newspaper reports Jayne was home on leave visiting relatives in Canisteo and left to return to Afghanistan last Monday.
