Soldier Surprises Kindergarten Son In School

Batavia, N.Y. - Kindergartner in Batavia will spend Christmas with someone special after a surprise visit at school Thursday.

Corporal Haven Armstrong surprised his son Hasan during a Christmas concert at Jackson Elementary School.

The soldier has spent the past year in Kuwait.

He arrived home at about 3:30 Thursday morning and his wife had the surprise all set up.

Dad’s surprise visit at school was a big success. “It meant everything just to come here and see him for the first time,” Armstrong said. “it's been a long year.”

His son says he just wants to play with his dad when they get home.
