Brighton, N.Y. - Dozens of people enjoyed a modest meal for dinner Thursday night, that benefited the poor and hungry in the Rochester area.
Empty Bowls Rochester is a soup supper. People paid $30 for a dinner of soup and bread in a handcrafted bowl.
The bowls were created by local artists.
Guests take the handcrafted bowls home, to serve as a reminder that there are poor and hungry people in our community, according to Mark Wickham, the President & CEO of Catholic Family Center.
This is the ninth year of the event.
Proceeds from the event benefit Catholic Family Center's work to help the poor in our community.
