Rochester, N.Y. - There was plenty of school spirit going around the Rochester City School District.
More than 150 students with disabilities from all city schools competed in field and track events as part of the Special Olympics program at East High School.
The contests provide the students with a sense of competition and the spirit of sport.
Robin Mitchell of Special Olympics New York says - "We want to provide a real experience - we don't want it to be contrived - and something that is not patronizing."
The weekend of June 8th through the 10th is Special Olympics Weekend with more events taking place at Nazareth College.
