Rochester, N.Y. - Parts of the upcoming movie "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" will be filmed in Rochester.

Producers will be in town Friday to scout locations for some scenes in the film, including a chase scene.

Once they decide where to shoot, they'll spend 10 to 15 days here.

The Wall Street Journal reports that producers picked our city because speed laws here aren't as restrictive as they are in New York City, where majority of filming will take place.

The production will require 3,000 hotel room nights in Rochester, something Gov. Andrew Cuomo says will help boost the local economy.

Filming began on Feb. 1 and will take 151 days to shoot. Unlike "The Amazing Spider-Man," this film will be shot entirely in New York State.

The film has a budget of more than $100 million and is expected to create 3,500 jobs, most in New York City and Long Island.

New York state allocates $420 million each year in tax credits to the entertainment industry, and last year lured 57 productions here. Gov. Andrew Cuomo is trying to extend the tax credit,  which expires next year, for five years in the budget.

The "Amazing Spider-Man 2" is expected to hit theaters in May 2014.
