Victor, N.Y.—It’s early, but an ambitious plan to build a massive
sports complex in Victor is getting closer to becoming a reality.
“We see this as a benefit to the area not only Victor, but also the surrounding communities as well,” said Jim Ludwig, General Manager of Pinnacle Athletic Campus.
It has been reviewed by Victor's Town Board and Planning Board along with Ontario County officials, according to board members and the developer.
On Monday, a hearing was held at Victor Town Hall for the developer to describe details and residents to provide feedback.
“We know what sports teams are like, said Randolph Lee. “I’m not anti-sports, but I don’t want to live across the street from a stadium,” said Randolph Lee, a nearby resident.
Some people living near the site say they have concerns over the traffic, potential lighting and noise problems as well as the impact such a facility could have on their property values.
The next major step is the re-zoning of the site which is off Phillips Road, south of the Thruway exit.
It would need to become a development district which would require an amendment to the town's zoning map.
Victor Town Board Members scheduled a special workshop for the developer to further explain plans to residents. The meeting is scheduled for March 11 at 6 p.m. at Victor Town Hall.
