Rochester, N.Y. - Veterans day will officially be celebrated next week.
However, Thursday night, nearly 600 veterans and community members gathered to honor those who have served in the United States Armed Forces.
The Veterans Outreach Center's largest fundraiser is the Annual Stars and Stripes Celebration. The White House Director of Policy for Veterans spoke at the gathering.
"For the Veterans Outreach Center…we have been garnering attention at the national level from the federal government, department of labor, and this is the second visit from a White House official recognizing the success and the value of our programs," said Alexis Ganter of the Veterans Outreach Center.
The Center provides support services and programs for local veterans and their families.
