(AP) - An upbeat jobs report has stocks off to a strong start on Wall Street this morning.

The Dow rose more than 100 points in the first hour of trading, at one point cracking 14,000. The S&P and the Nasdaq are also seeing strong gains.

The government's latest jobs report shows the unemployment rate rising a tick, to 7.9 percent. But the Labor Department report is otherwise positive, as employers added 157,000 jobs in January and hiring figures for the past two years were revised upward.

The department's annual revisions show employers added an average of roughly 180,000 jobs per month in 2012 and 2011, up from previous estimates of about 150,000.
