Utica, N.Y. (AP) - Utility crews are working to restore power to thousands of homes and businesses in the Mohawk Valley.

Monday night's thunderstorms included golf-ball sized hail and high winds, brought down power lines across the Thruway near Herkimer, and flooded streets in Rome, according to the Associated Press.

National Grid workers worked through the night repairing and cleaning up after numerous downed trees and damages. According to wktv.com, one of the hardest hit areas was Marcy, and power lines were also downed in Stitville and Floyd.
