Fairport, N.Y. - A substitute teacher from Fairport is facing charges he raped a 15 year old girl.
State Police arrested Glenn Manzek, 40, on charges of rape, criminal sex act, and endangering the welfare of a child. The victim has a connection to his job as a substitute, but police would not say whether she had been his student.
"There was a connection to the fact that he was a substitute teacher however the incident did not take place on school property. it did not take place while school was in session" says Lt. James Greenwood of the New York State Police.
Manzek is accused of raping the 15-year-old victim twice at his home on Chadwick Manor in Perinton. In one case it's alleged he left his three children- all under age 4- home alone, in order to pick up the victim. Manzek is also accused of sexual encounters with the victims in parking lots including the lot at the Fairport Little League complex on Lyndon Road.
The victim told her mother who called police. "Its very concerning, rather shocking to the community," says Lt. Greenwood.
Since 2006 Manzek has been a substitute teacher at various schools throughout Monroe County including the Brighton, East Irondequoit, Fairport, Gates, Pitttsford, and Victor school districts. Investigators say there is no evidence to indicate there are other victims but want to hear from anyone with information the might suggest otherwise.
Manzer was arraigned in the Town of Perinton Court on 16 separate charges including endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly leaving his children home alone. He posted and bail and was home Thursday afternoon. He did not want to comment.
