New Jersey - A grand jury has refused to indict a woman widely known as the "tanning mom."

Patricia Krentcil was accused of endangering her then-five-year-old daughter by allegedly taking her into a tanning booth.

Krentcil claims her daughter's burns were caused by being in the sun outside.

The arrest generated wide publicity partly because of Krentcil's deep tan and professed love of tanning salons.

Prosecutors say the case is now over.
